Laser
Cutting Services

Dongji provides laser cutting services on three fiber laser systems from TRUMPF and AMADA, cutting mild steel to 30 mm and stainless and aluminium to 20 mm on sheets up to 3,000 × 1,500 mm. Available as a standalone service, or as the first cutting stage of a full fabrication programme.

Capability

Laser cutting services — what the machines will hold

The reach of our laser cutting services is set by three things: laser power, sheet envelope, and how the material behaves under a focused beam. Mild steel cuts substantially thicker than stainless or aluminium at identical power, because reflectivity and thermal conductivity differ. The figures below are working limits, not headline numbers.

Thick sections run on our high-power machines. Thin-gauge work runs at lower power, where heat input and edge quality matter more than raw speed.

Accuracy vs. tolerance

0.1 mm is machining accuracy at the cutting head. It is not the finished tolerance of a formed part — once a blank is bent, springback and positioning error both come into play. If your part will be formed after cutting, work to the bending tolerance table rather than to this figure.

Materials

What we cut

Mild steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, copper and acrylic. Across our cutting operations, thickness spans 0.2 mm to 30 mm depending on material.

Typical parts leaving the cutting bed

  • Equipment enclosures & housings
  • Electrical and industrial cabinets
  • Kiosk and self-service terminal bodies
  • Vending machine cabinets
  • Brackets and structural frames
  • Decorative and architectural panels

Sequence

Cutting is where the errors get caught

Laser cutting is the second of ten stages in our custom sheet metal fabrication programme, following design and preceding CNC punching, bending, welding and finishing. Because we cut in-house rather than buying in blanks, a dimensional error surfaces at stage two instead of at assembly.

It also means blank geometry is adjusted for bend allowance before cutting, not corrected afterwards. Most parts we cut are bent, welded and powder coated in the same building.

Questions

Before you send drawings

What is the largest sheet you can cut?

3,000 × 1,500 mm. Parts larger than this are produced as multiple cut sections and joined by welding — with bending capacity to 3,200 mm, oversized assemblies are routine.

How thick can you cut?

Mild steel up to 30 mm. Stainless steel and aluminium up to 20 mm.

What accuracy can you hold?

0.1 mm machining accuracy at the cutting head. If the part is subsequently formed, the governing figure is the bending tolerance, which varies by flange length.

What is your minimum order quantity?

100 pieces. Samples are available at $20–$100 depending on the part.

How quickly can you quote?

Within 24 hours of receiving your drawings. Send material, thickness and finish along with geometry so the quote comes back complete rather than with questions attached.
